1.
Concours Class Rules
All competitors should send three main colour photos showing left side, right side and one from the rider's
perspective showing the handlebars and controls and the top of the nacelle or
headlight. The bikes must virtually fill the photo frame - no photos from fifty
yards away, please! Please also include pics of engine, frame and registration numbers so that the Judge knows
exactly what the bike is supposed to be. Non-matching frame and engine numbers
will be acceptable so long as the engine is of the same type as the frame and
cycle parts. (No square-barrelled engines in plunger frames, for example).
Don't forget, this is a class for 'Catalogue spec' machines only. If you have a
'Special/Non-standard' Cub / Terrier please enter Class 2.
2.
Best Non-Standard Cub (must be road legal).
This class is for all you guys and girls
who have an ordinary every day Cub or Terrier, one that you haven’t had to
restore (or maybe you restored it so long ago that you’ve lost all the photos
and can’t remember a thing about what you did), but it’s a ready built bike
that you just get on and ride. All
competitors should send a minimum of three colour photos showing left
side, right side, and one from the rider's perspective showing the handlebars
and controls and the top of the nacelle or headlight. The bikes must virtually
fill the photo frame. If you’ve made any
mods to the bike please include details (plus a pic) of why and how it improves
the bike. If you have completed an
outstanding road trip on the bike, send details of this too.
3.
Restoration Class Rules
This is a class to cater for those who
started with a pile of rusty parts and have built a complete bike from it, or
perhaps you started with a complete bike but it needed to be stripped down and
fully rebuilt, and what you have ended up with is a nice, usable Cub or Terrier
that simply glows with pride, showing off the work that you, the owner, put
into restoring it to its former glory.
Either way, your bike is eligible for this class, so send in some photos
of your handiwork, showing before, during and after shots, and any close ups
you feel that emphasise particular skills or DIY work that you’re proud of. Please note, this is not a class for those
who commissioned a professional full restoration. It is ok to have outsourced jobs you can’t do
at home, but you must have completed the majority of work yourself.
4.
Get You Home Class Rules
If you’ve ever had to facilitate a quick
repair by the roadside, then this is the class for you. There is no time frame in which the fix must
have been carried out, but it must be your own handiwork (not a professional
mechanic or garage) and if possible, photographic proof should be
supplied. Given that the 'fix' might
have been carried out donkeys years ago though, we appreciate a photo might not
be possible, in which case a full description of the fix should be sent in.
If you do have photos, please submit up to three, focussing on the 'fix',
rather than the whole bike. A short
description of how, why, where, who and when the ‘fix’ was carried out should accompany
your entry.
5.
Trials Class Rules
All competitors should send three main
colour photos showing the left side, right side, and one from the rider's
perspective showing the handlebars and controls. Extra photos of mods that help in your
pursuit to climb sheer rock faces and jump off bridges are acceptable, and
please supply full written details of these modifications. Please state
whether you built the bike yourself or bought it 'as is', and whether you
compete or just ‘have fun’ off road.
6. Best Sports/Racing/Other Competition Cub or Terrier Rules ~ Not necessarily just for 'Sports' Cubs but a class for all types of Cubs & Terriers that are intended for anything other than trials or simple road riding. Could be racing, scrambling, grass tracking etc... All competitors should send three main colour photos showing the left side,
right side, and one from the rider's perspective showing the handlebars and
controls. Extra photos of mods that help in your pursuit of glory are
acceptable, and please supply full written details of these modifications.
Please state whether you built the bike yourself or bought it 'as is', and
whether you compete or just ‘have fun’ in parade laps etc.

The CUB MAG Cub & Terrier Online Show is
open to all – both subscribers and non-subscribers of The Cub Mag, providing
you own a Cub or Terrier. You may enter your bike in any or all of the classes for which is it eligible. Please clearly specify the Class on your email, and if entering more than one Class, please do so via separate emails. The CUB MAG Cub & Terrier Online Show
relies on the honesty of the entrants.
Please do not pass other peoples work off as your own, and if, for
example, you had to have certain jobs done by others during your restoration,
please just state this in your entry details.
For Class 2, we accept your word that the bike is road legal and ridden
at least once a year on the public roads.
For all classes please include details of year, model and how long
you have owned the bike.
There will be a main prize (announced later) for each class, plus a runners up prize of a coveted Cub Mag tee shirt or mug.
The Judges &
Organisers (The Cub Mag Team) decisions are of course, final, so don’t bother even
trying to argue with Edward ‘Turner’ Bear.
